Market feathers are ruffled

A quick inspection of the benchmark Nasdaq ETF QQQQ shows two things rather clearly: the short term trend has been well and truly disturbed, whilst the long term trend has naturally barely budged. Cash rich - & tight…

Trailing 4Q cash dividends as a ratio of reported earnings are at very low levels.

The 80 year average is 56% versus the current ratio of 30% for S&P 500 companies.

As of 31 Mar 07, S&P 500 dividends per share were $25.49 versus the GAAP reported earnings per share of $84.72, according to Ned Davis Research.
